Normally we will ask you to just open up the file and copy and paste the information from the text file directly onto the forum. There is no sensitive information contained within here, just information that can help us deduce whether there's a potential issue with your system which could be affecting your game.

If you come across a bug within the game we'd very much appreciate you raising the issue for us via our community Bugs Forum which can be found here - https://community.sigames.com/forum/638-football-manager-2019-bugs-forum/

Within this forum there are a number of subsections to post your particular issue. If you're not sure which area it's suited to, please just create a thread in the All Other Issues forum and our testing team can move it to the relevant sub-forum.

Where you can, please try and provide an example of the issue with a save game. If you can provide a save game where we can reproduce the issue ideally just before the issue occurs that is most useful in allowing us to find the issue and fix it. You can upload files directly to the SI Cloud Service, just remember to let us know the file name once you've uploaded it.

If you come across a database issue within the game we'd very much appreciate you raising the issue for us via our community Data Forum which can be found here - https://community.sigames.com/forum/619-database-and-research/

Within this forum there are a number of threads specific to nations, so please use them to raise your issue.

Please remember these important rules when raising a data issue:

Much of the data in the database is of a subjective nature and many people will have different opinions about this kind of data and this must be respected.

We would request you all to adhere to the following three-point plan when posting in the data topics:

  1. State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.
  2. State what you think the data should be.
  3. State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

To upload files to us, please use the SI Cloud Service.

You can drag files directly into it, or can 'Click to Select Files' to open up Windows Explorer and find the file on your system.

Please remember to mention the file name of the uploaded file in either your forum post or when in contact with a support agent.

When updating your graphics card drivers, we recommend uninstalling the old drivers first to make sure there are no issues.

Uninstalling your Graphics card drivers:

For AMD/ATI Drivers – https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx
For Intel Drivers – https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005598/graphics-drivers.html
For nVidia Drivers – https://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/IO_13955.html

Bear in mind some laptops will have both Intel and an AMD or Nvidia driver, so remember to remove them both before reinstalling. If you’re having graphical issues we would recommend also removing any software associated with the drivers (Nvidia GeForce Experience or the AMD/ATI Catalyst Control Centre) during this process.

Reinstalling your Graphics card drivers:

Ggraphics card websites have 'auto-checkers' which can scan your system and find the correct card. They can be found here for the following versions:

AMD/ATI - http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/pages/index.aspx
Intel - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/Graphics-Drivers
Nvidia - http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

If you have the knowledge, we'd suggest using the manual download and install over the auto-checker, so if you know your exact graphics card make and the OS you are running, please enter in your details and find the latest drivers.

Once you’ve updated to the latest drivers and restarted your system you should be running the latest drivers available.

For some laptops it may be worth checking on your manufacturers website for exact drivers for your laptop, especially if you have dual graphics cards (Intel with AMD/Nvidia) or have problems updating from any of the sites listed above.

All your Football Manager game files can be found in the following location by default:

C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\

We very much suggest having auto save turned on to weekly or fortnightly with ‘New File for Each Auto Save’ so you always have a recent backup of your save. If you find you have a large number of backup saves, you can manually delete them from the location show above.

You can change you auto-save settings via the in-game preferences at any point. Bear in mind auto save will save at the time period set by the user from the last time you saved. If you manually save at any point, the auto save clock restarts.

Occasionally due to updates or system configuration, anti-virus programs have been known to interfere with Steam and Football Manager.

Because of this, we recommend if you encounter issues, setting up your anti-virus to make sure it is not conflicting with the game. Please add Steam and Football Manager to your exceptions. How to do this will depend on your anti-virus, we very much suggest you searching online on the programs website for details on how to do this.

For clarification by default Steam and Football Manager will be installed in the following locations:

Steam – C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam

Football Manager - C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2019

If you think it’s your anti-virus causing a problem with the game it may be worth following the instructions below and uninstalling the anti-virus program.

If you choose to do so, we recommend turning on Windows Firewall/Windows Defender. On OS’s earlier than Windows 8 or 8.1 we’d recommend installing Microsoft Security Essentials which is solid, free and doesn't conflict with Steam or FM. If you run Windows 8.1 or 10 you will already have Windows Defender installed, we would not suggest installing another anti-virus as well as this can sometimes cause conflicting issues.

Once you have setup your anti-virus as above (either with exceptions or uninstalled), we’d suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Football Manager. Details on how to uninstall the game can be found here.

If you have a dedicated graphics card on your system (such as an Nvidia or AMD card) you may have the option to switch change which graphics card you use with FM. We recommend always using your dedicated card for best performance, however if you encounter any issues running a dedicated card, it's worth trying the integrated card to see whether it's a graphics card specific issue.

This feature is mainly found on laptops, however some motherboards within desktop may also have integrated graphics.

Nvidia Graphic Cards

If running a laptop you'll find if it has  an Nvidia card, it will most likely also have a secondary Intel card. This will normally run by default when running the machine in power saving mode. To be able to change manually between the two graphics cards, please follow the instructions below

- Right-click on your desktop and there should be a Nvidia Control Panel.
- Under ‘3D settings’ click to select 'Manage 3D settings'
- Select the ‘Program Settings’  tab
- Click the 'Add' button which appears within the section: '1. Select a program to customize'
- Under here add  ‘fm.exe’ (this can be found found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2019 or where you have installed Steam and FM)
- From the section 2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program' select which graphics card you wish to run
- Click the 'Apply' button

AMD/ATI Graphics Cards

For AMD/ATI cards, because there is a large variation in versions of the AMD/ATI Radeon Catalyst Control Center for adjusting the settings for these cards, bear in mind the process may not be exactly as listed below. Saying that, by following the instructions you should be able to find similar options to those described here:

- For AMD/ATI Radeon cards, go to Graphics > PowerPlay - Set Plugged In and Battery to Maximum Performance.
- Click Apply.
- If the option is available to your graphics card, go to Graphics > 3D and move the slider across to Performance so it is set for Optimal Performance.
- Click Apply.
- If your Catalyst Control Center has the Switchable Graphics tab go there and browse to locate fm.exe and set it for High Performance or the integrated option. Click Apply.
- Do the same for Steam - this can be found found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2019 or where you have installed Steam and FM.

If you’ve forgotten your Steam username and password, go here to try and find your account - https://help.steampowered.com/en/#HelpWithLoginInfo

If you are unable to complete the account recovery process, you will need to try and verify your ownership of the account here - https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5421-QTFB-3090

Please bear in mind Sports Interactive and SEGA have no access to Steam accounts and password and cannot help in this situation. You must use Steam’s support in order to get support with this issue.

On a new machine, make sure you are signed into the same Steam account as where your game was originally installed and you saved your save game to the Steam cloud.

Go to the Load Game and select the 'Cloud' tab. Here will be listed all your saves on the cloud. Select a save game and then the 'Load' button to load your save.

You must have an active Internet connection to use the Cloud Save Settings.

On a computer that is fully synchronised with Steam Cloud saves for Football Manager, go to Load or Save game and select the 'Cloud' tab.

Here will be listed all your saves on the cloud. Select a save game and then the 'delete' button to remove them from the cloud.

You must have an active Internet connection to use the Cloud Save Settings.
