Android - Getting Started

You can buy Football Manager Mobile 2017 from the Google Play Store via this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sigames.fmm2017

The game will also be available for Kindle Fire devices from the Amazon App Store in the near future.

You will require:

  • Android OS version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or above
  • A minimum resolution of 480 x 320

The first time the game is run, it will need to connect to the internet to download skin data. You will have the choice of either downloading the basic data appropriate for your device or downloading the full skin data for your device which also includes player pictures.

The size of the basic data download is 68MB-84MB depending on your device. The size of the full data download is 110MB-275MB depending on your device.

We recommend downloading these files over WiFi and not over a mobile network. Please ensure you have a functioning WiFi connection before downloading these files.

After downloading the skin data, the game will then take a few minutes to unpack itself and detect the appropriate Match Engine for your device - this should only happen the first time it is run - and then the Main Menu will load. Please note that if you are downloading the full data on an older/lower spec device it may take some time to fully unpack and install.

This depends on whether you wish to install the full skin data including player pics or simply the basic data. As a general rule, we recommend having at least 200MB free when installing the basic data (the actual download size is a lot less though).

Please allow space for the full skin data including player pics depending on your device's screen resolution as follows:

  • HVGA (480 x 320) - 320MB
  • WVGA (800 x 480) - 380MB
  • HD devices (640p or higher) - 500MB

If the Google Play store gives you an error, please try clearing data and settings from Google Play and Google Play Services via the Settings -> Apps menu on your device and rebooting.

If you can't download the skin data, please ensure you have sufficient space on your device and that you have a solid WiFi connection.

The game will detect how much RAM your device is able to allocate to the game and as such will determine whether your device is capable of supporting multi-league play.

For devices that do support multi-league play, you will be able to select all divisions from one main nation and the top division from each of up to three background nations.

Devices that don't offer sufficient resources will be allowed to select leagues from one nation and a message advising of this will be displayed on the league selection screen.
